Dr. Yayu Gao received her BS degree from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2009, and the PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from City University of Hong Kong in 2014. Since 2014, she has been with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, where she is currently an assistant professor. Her current research interests mostly focus on wireless communications and random access networks.

  • May 2017, a full research paper “Throughput Optimization of Multi-BSS IEEE 802.11 Networks with Universal Frequency Reuse,” has been accepted by IEEE Transactions on Communinations.
  • Apr. 2017, I am teaching Fundamentals of Information Theory this semester.
  • Apr. 2017, a full research paper “Optimal Transmission Policy for CSMA Networks in Fading Channels,” has been submitted to Wireless Networks.
  • Jan. 2017, a conference paper “Coexisting 802.11a/n and 802.11ac Clients in WLANs: Optimization and Differentiation,” has been accepted by IEEE ICC 2017.
  • Dec. 2016, I've won the first prize in the Fellows Teaching Competition of HUST.
  • Nov. 2016, a full research paper "Distributed throughput optimization for heterogeneous IEEE 802.11 DCF networks,” has been published in Wireless Networks.
  • Oct. 2016, Miss Junqing Peng joined my group as a Master student.
  • Sept. 2016, Mr. Yachao Yin joined my group as a Master student.
